VANESSA KAY

Vanessa grew up in the fishing industry of Vancouver Island. Vanessa is a graduate of the Midwifery Education Program in Ontario, graduating in 2017 with her BA of Sciences in Midwifery. She went on to provide full scope midwifery care offering antenatal, labour + delivery (both home and hospital) and postpartum care in Vancouver, Squamish and Prince George. After taking some time away to have her own babies she moved to the Bulkley Valley with her young family in the Summer of 2021. Vanessa has a special interest in rural maternity care provision and was drawn back to the Bulkley Valley region after a student placement. In addition to her midwifery work Vanessa is also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant offering families support in all aspects of infant feeding. Vanessa is grateful to live and work on the unceded territory of Gidmit’en Bear and Wolf clan, home of the Witsuwit’en, Telkwa, BC.
