Headwaters Postpartum Midwifery Care Program

The goal of Headwaters Postpartum Midwifery Care is to provide high quality, home based postpartum care through regular home visits for the first 6 weeks after delivery. Visits include well-woman and newborn care along with close breastfeeding support. Through collaborative work with Family Physicians, nurses and lactation consultants Vanessa aims to ensure your family is supported with comprehensive care.  During your postpartum care Vanessa is on call and available to your family 24/7.

Standard visits:    

• 1-4 visits in the first week postpartum     

• Visits as needed from 1 week to 6 weeks with any additional routine care from your care provider

This care is available to those living in the Bulkley Valley and outlying communities of Witset and Houston. Referrals to the program can be made by your physician or by self-referral through the Self-Referral Form found on this website.
